Refurbished sirens can be rebuilt and installed for a fraction of the cost of a new siren. Most older outdoor warning sirens are simpler, extremely well built, and have less electronic parts that are susceptible to lightning like newer sirens are.
Since older sirens have less electronic components that are susceptible to lightning, they are usually tougher and easier to maintain. As a result, refurbished systems are generally cheaper to maintain than newer systems, and generally last just as long. At the end of their refurbished service life, they can simply be refurbished again.
When we rebuild an older siren, we take it apart all the way down to the very last bolt to ensure that every part is in cleaned and rebuilt. Any parts that are in poor condition or at the end of their life will be replaced. We replace all bearings and carbon brushes on sirens that we rebuild unless they are in like-new condition. This ensures that every siren that we rebuild will be reliable and work when needed for many years to come. In most cases, our sirens are rebuilt to far higher standards than when they came out of the factory.
Q: Aren't parts for older sirens hard to find?
A: No! In fact, most parts are still made and readily available to find today. Parts that are not available can usually be cost-effectively manufactured. Visit our parts page for more info!
Q: What is the cost savings of a refurbished siren?
A: Most new sirens are about $20,000-30,000 installed. Almost all of our refurbished sirens can be turn-key installed for under $10,000, and often times they outperform newer siren designs due to their unique dual-tone sound. You can generally install 2-3 refurbished sirens for the price of one new siren.
Q: What sort of warranty do your sirens have?
A: All our rebuilt sirens come with an industry-standard 5-year warranty that covers any defects in workmanship or mechanical failures related to the rebuild. You will get a like-new siren with a new-siren warranty.
